It’s been another long day, but we managed to get everything packed with plenty of time to pick up a couple of missing essentials on the way to Wyatt’s parents’ house in Orange County. I took a few minutes sitting in the backyard and enjoying the sunset. I know I’ll probably see plenty of lovely ones abroad, but this feels a bit like a farewell.
Everything went according to schedule after that. We got to the airport, checked in, got through security.
I’m sitting here in a quiet corner of LAX sipping a milkshake and listening to Diana and Wyatt chat about their D&D characters’ various escapades. There’s 40 minutes until boarding. I keep wondering when it’s going to feel real. I’ll be sure to let you know…
